Gamestonk Simulator: Gone Rogue enters the increasingly crowded job and shop simulator space by placing players in charge of a struggling video game store. The premise carries some entertaining twists, including questionable neighbors with mafia undertones and a steady stream of amusing fake game titles scattered throughout the experience. Top of the features might be using a choncla (flip flop sandle) to hit shoplifters and get your stolen merchandise back.

The atmosphere and humor help establish personality early on, and once additional systems begin to unlock, the game becomes noticeably more engaging.

However, reaching that point takes far too long.

The opening hours move at an extremely slow pace, limiting the player to only a handful of products and mechanics while drip-feeding progression at a frustrating rate. For much of the early game, the experience feels constrained rather than naturally paced. A store with 2-3 products isn’t much of a store.

Only after several in-game weeks do things begin to open up enough for the core gameplay loop to become enjoyable.

While the game ultimately proves functional and occasionally charming, it never fully distinguishes itself from the larger crowd of simulator titles currently available.

Gamestonk Simulator: Gone Rogue is therefore recorded as Dead for stream purposes.

The store is closed, out of stock.

Pronouncement: Pronounced dead.
