Airborne Empire arrives as the follow-up to Airborne Kingdom, continuing its distinctive approach to city-building by placing an entire settlement in the sky. This session marked the first direct experience with the sequel as it hit 1.0 after some early access time.
Early impressions suggest a high-quality continuation of the original formula. The world appears larger, visuals feel more refined, and the core loop of exploration, resource gathering, and expansion remains intact.
Gameplay centers around guiding a flying city across the map, completing tasks for settlements below and steadily increasing the size and complexity of the airborne colony. The loop is familiar, but polished.
While the experience is enjoyable, it does not significantly diverge in its early stages from what came before. This is not inherently a flaw, but it does make the experience feel more like an extension than a transformation — at least within the limited time observed.
As a result, while Airborne Empire stands as a well-crafted and likely appealing title for many players, it does not secure a place in the current streaming rotation.
Airborne Empire is therefore recorded as Dead.
The city remains aloft.
Pronouncement: Dead.
