Solasta II arrives in Early Access with clear improvement over Solasta, improved in nearly every part of it. Presentation, storytelling, graphics, and voice acting all show noticeable advancement over the first title. While combat remains a solid challenge.
The tactical combat remains the backbone of the experience, retaining the methodical pacing and the on-the-edge-of-disaster feeling. At the same time, the world feels more polished and cohesive, hinting at a larger and more ambitious campaign once development is complete. Little touches like the family mechanics for your party of adopted siblings might seem minor but they really bring a little something original to a traditional D&D based RPG formula.
However, the current Early Access build represents only a portion of the full adventure. While what exists is enjoyable, the overall narrative arc and long-term progression remain incomplete.
Rather than begin a campaign that cannot yet reach its conclusion, the official record places Solasta II in Cryostasis until the full 1.0 release arrives.
The adventure waits, patiently suspended mid-quest. Dingus the pink-eyed cleric will return.
Pronouncement: Placed in Cryostasis pending full release.
