Aether & Iron begins its journey at a measured pace, initially guiding players along a structured and linear path. Early moments feel controlled and deliberate, with limited freedom to diverge from the intended route.

However, after several hours, the experience begins to open. Choices emerge, story branches are presented and the game starts to offer multiple missions at a time, rewarding those willing to push through its slower introduction.

Presentation stands out as a strong element. Full voice acting is present throughout and delivered with quality, helping to ground the world and its characters. The art direction complements this well, creating a cohesive and visually appealing setting. The alternative 1930’s noir vibe doesn’t fade in either the writing or artwork.

The narrative, while still developing, shows enough promise to maintain interest as the game progresses. Vehicle turn-based combat is definitely a bit unique as well and more is needed but iot seems enjoyable so far.

The journey has only just begun. Hope to get in some more time soon.

Pronouncement: Still alive.
